Hi, Sa-Wa-Dee-Kap! I believe I've written to this forum (bluebird section) a couple of years back. Was also in MRC (Mitsu racing Club) section 4-5 years ago. Apologies for being unable to dig back old threads due to the language used here, I have just been assuming and keep in assuming Anyway, just to let you know that the bluebird from U13 series (or known officially as altima in Malaysia) has its own fan base. Like in Thailand, not as many as other models on the road, but still, nonetheless, over the past 2 years, the numbers of the modified ones have increased tremendously. Nothing much else to say, but do enjoy the pics of some of the rides down there. We have gathered almost enough kits for the car from halfcut/wreckers. From stock lip for stock bumper, to Series 1 kit to Series 2 to american-style of exterior modding. And until now, we have managed to secure the cloned parts as well for frontal lip ( 3 types, stock, series 1 and series 2), side skirts and rear end caps (series 1 and series 2). Also, we managed to convert the Series 2 Taillights to mimic the USDM ones by removing the yellow layer, formed below the clear layer of S2 taillights. And other most-hunted items are the JDM sunroof and rear windscreen with wiper. Engine-wise, some stick to 20DE, some converted to 20DET and a number to 20VE. I can be contacted via email [email protected] and here's the thread of Fugly Dugongs (aptly named after F**king Ugly Dugong, nickname of the Bluebird U13). I submitted a couple of photos from you guys to the thread as well, hope it's permitted. Let me know if you wish to have it removed. here's a link to my ride: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2266826 and here are some extracts: Rearview in Genting with Japanese plate number Some weekend shot in river getaway.
Thanks yy_u12. I believe last time we have already chit-chatted. A couple of years back when I was looking for any U13 photos in Thailand.
Here's some more - the gathering of the dugongs and some random local dugong shots. Series Two Rear Kit complete withe encaps.
More friends' ride. One is from the Stateside (USA). He ordered the series 1 lip and endcaps from me.
Here's the link to the thread I started in nismoclub forum in 2006. It has been going on quite strong with 200+ pages and 3200+ replies. Mostly consolidation of photos and what-have-you with regard to U13 and occasionally U12 and U14 too. Do check it out. Aptly named "Fugly Dugongs" http://nismoclub.6.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=1887Ap
hey madboy. Really? There's a lot of U12 around, much more than the U13. U11 is quite alright but U14, is far and in between. Which part of KL? KL/Selangor has loads of U13s these days. Lots of U13s in Australia and NZ though. Wifey was there for a couple of weeks and spotted at least 1 bluebird U13 a day. Not to mention the States.
Hello, nice to meet you I've been to KL one time for meeting Asian distributor of our product . After meeting, we went to Elit Club behind Shangri-la Hotel. Last day ,i went to KL tower Chocolate village and etc. There're so many tree in your town. I hope i will go to there again.
Yes!!!!! Last time we just spoke why in Thailand we did not call U13 as Altima but we just call them as "SSS" Thank so much for very nice photos, I think, your photos may let someone here inspire somethings to do with there U13.
madboy, please do call me up if you are down here. i can be contacted via my mobile @ +6012 6791913 OATH, great. Yeah, for now a number of green "lungs" area, but I don't think for long. What sort of product you are dealing with? I'm attached to an Australian university with a branch campus in Malaysia. But I do deal with some suppliers whenever we are buying technical products too, mostly engineering trainers, for undergraduate students and research work. yy_u12, yes, I hope the photos will inspire fellow U13 users up north (Thailand). So far, Malaysia, Phillipines and Thailand have almost similar spec'ed U13, as compared to other countries. USA has only 2.4-litre (KA24DE) engine with some trim levels, while Japan, Australia and NZ has the best of both worlds. From 1.6-litre GA16DS to 1.8-litre SR18DE (FWD and 4WD), to 2.0-litre CD20 Diesel (FWD and 4WD), to 2.0-litre SR20DE (FWD and 4WD), to 2.0-litre turbo SR20DET 4WD and finally 2.4-litre KA24DE FWD. So many options for them. In both SSS and ARX (luxurier, frameless) version of the U13.
Just wondering if you guys have aftermarket option for U13 suspension in Thailand? That's the only thing missing out in Malaysia. Most owners resort to either JDM 4WD Turbo's set of springs (which makes it sit higher, but stiffer), or custom (either by relubricating, revalving the absorbers) or branded custom with the likes of Titan, GAB or HWL. Some would resort to modifying the Silvia's or AE101's coilovers too. Other than that, not much options here, except Kayaba Excel-G, Gabriel and Paraut. Strut bar is either from halfcut/wreckers (JDM U13, some comes with it) or custom with local Ultra Racing bars.
HI BDAU13, nice to know another U13 user. Where did you get your front bumper from. Halfcut shop? Yes, it's a very nice car. When it was new, it was tagged at around RM90,000-RM110,000. That's almost the same tange as Bluebird Sylphy these days! It lies somewhere between Cefiro A32 and Sentra B14.

We are also gather the same problem occur as you in Malaysia. We do not have the aftermarket brands specificly for and U model. Just some plain like KYB or Gabriel or the new one GAB which launch Thai market last year. But, not for all U model that suspension of them avialable. You are lucky guys in lucky that you have more specific parts to use in your BLUEBIRD than us.
I am wishing to go to Bangkok instead. Or Hat Yai, or Phuket or Krabi. Heard of cool beaches there and of course, hot "chicks"? Hahaha. I've been to many countries, but when it comes to Thailand, I only managed to go as far as "Golok" the border near Kelantan, a state in malaysia. + อ้างถึง ตอบกลับ
